What does “Parliamentary Ping Pong” mean?

Parliamentary ping pong describes how a bill may pass quickly back and forth between the UK’s House of Commons and House of Lords as each debate any amendments (or changes) to the wording of the bill. This back-and-forth continues until both Houses reach agreement on the draft law.
